Boring but easy

Her class is soooo boring but on the easy side. She talks in a monotone voice and all her assignments are very uninteresting and a drag to do. She gave homework and quizes everyweek, but they are easy if u just read the book. She doesn't give out a lot of A's and she grades her assignments on a 1-10 scale. So getting an 8 basically means you're getting a B-. She does a lot of group work and it's all counted towards participation. Her midterm and final wasn't too hard, but she's picky in what she is looking for...therefore it's hard to get a really good grade, but she doesn't really give out bad grades either. It's just hard to do well (getting an A) in the class even if u go to class all the time and do the work. She also gives out a project at the end of the semester that is very tedious and especially boring to have to sit through other people's presentation.

don't take this teacher - trust me!

I took this teacher on Fall of 2002 and i hated everytime i had to go to class.

What an annoying lecture and you never learn a thing... you just feel annoyed!

You have to do a lot of work yourself, i take classes to learn from them and have anything i dont understand - clarified. If i wanted to learn just from the book i would buy a book and stay at home... even by doing this you would not do too well in her class.

She seems alright though and does similar formats to other teachers

I have got A's and B's in all my business core and got a C in this class - which was very annoying - even though i did good presentations... in which i found her kind of intimidating.

Above Average Teacher

Prof Rappaport is an ok teacher. But compared to some of the other teachers that instructs BUS360, she does very well. Expect the usual materials covered in a BUS360 class: 8-10 quizes, 3-4 presentations (not including the informal ones that you have to do in groups), case studies, and 2-3 papers, including a research one. If you expect these, then you will have no problems in the class. I found the class to be very enjoyable overall.

Good Facilitator, Poor Teacher

Although Prof. Rappaport was a very approachable professor, I felt she didn't give us enough guidance as to how to write well. She mostly facilitated rather than taught the class. Class time was mostly spent on group role play rather than actual writing. Very few homework written assignments were given so the feedback you got was scarce. If you like learning on your own, Prof. Rappaport is the right teacher for you. If not, you need to find another English prof.
