This 1st yr experience for undeclared students did not help at all. This class was held in the big auditorium class every Mon and Wed with 2 instructors (Al Reyes and Lin Greer) lecturing at us and not really giving us the chance to interact with them in smaller groups especially when it was our first semester at SFSU. Good thing was we got to get into smaller classes on Fridays where the TA's taught. I felt that I got more help and interaction w/the TA being our mentor. My suggestion for new freshman is DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. You WILL get more help on orientation then waste valuable time on this class.

Reyes is a really nice guy, but he talks so slow and so softly that it makes you sleepy and, thus, really hard to sit through his class and lectures. It doesn't help that he had another counselor to teach the class with him (I forgot his name he was so boring). They tell you at registration that this class is really helpful in getting to know the university and all of that...let me tell you, they only had ONE day where they went over requirements. The rest of it was about your "dreams" and "goals". If I wanted a self-help course, I would have knowingly signed up for it. This class is ridiculous...never take it...it's barely worth the three units.
