An A Business Teacher

Professor Robertson is one of the best business professors SF State has to offer. His lectures are quite engaging and entertaining. You can tell he's in Marketing; he lectures like a salesman! His class is mostly online, regarding the exams (13 quizzes with 10 questions and a final with 50 questions). I do recommend going to the lectures, so that you may ask him questions, however the lectures are archived online which is quite helpful. Because he has so much material available online, there is no need to purchase the textbook for this class. If you're a business major, take his class. And even if you're not, take his class. He is a riot!

What an easy class.

This is an online class. So easy to get an A in. All you have to do is attend the first day of lecture. Then the rest of the semester just go online and listen to the lecture. Take the 13 mini exams online which you could take over and over again until you get a perfect 10. I print out all the exam after I took the test. I know that is wasting paper but it work. He even offer extra credit too, which are survey you could answer online. The final are 50 questions that are from the 13 mini exam. So if you print out all the exam and spend you time studying them you could get an A.

Robertson will tickle your fancy...

A- Exams 13 online quizzes with 10 questions to a quiz, that you can retake again and again. It's possible to get all A's for this section if you spend around 2 hours to log all 50-100 questions down and find the answers. Of course, you don't learn jack by this method. Quizzes are mostly derived from the book.

A+ Lectures He's entertaining. You have the option to GO TO CLASS or WATCH REAL TIME or WATCH LATER. Sometimes the video stream doesn't capture the audio, and there's nothing you can do about that, which sucks.

A+ Outside Class Availiability Robertson seems like he's always present online in the discussion board. You need to talk to him, post something up there, and he'll respond within 24 hours.

A+ Personality Mr. Funny man. He reminds me of Jim Carey in a way. But you be the judge of that.

A+ Speaking Skills He's got tons of jokes, fun facts, important real world information at the tip of his fingertips, and he doesn't mind sharing with the class.

Grade Breakdown 50% 13 mini-quizzes online w 10 questions (take infinite amount of time in time frame) 50% 1 Final with 50 questions (take once)

A very well rounded class

This class excels in all areas. Lectures are good and the workload is moderate. Professor Robertson is a great and humorous lecturer, you'll learn a lot and laugh a lot from him. As for the workload, it's not bad, which like all of the reviews had stated, consists of 13 mini-tests that you do online. As long as you do the tests, and study by doing the practice tests, you'll get by. This is a good class to soften a heavy school schedule, and a good class for anyone having a tight schedule, since you can view his lectures online and don't have to attend class for lecture. Overall, i highly recommend him.

Easy class

This is an online class. You only have to go to the first meeting. And after that, all lectures are saved online, so you can view them anytime. Since it was an online class, you're basically on your own. I didn't watch half the lectures because I have dialup connection. but u dont need to watch the lectures too much. You have about 10 mini quizzes you have to take online on Blackboard - these are 10 multiple choice questions u can take over and over again until you get a 10. And 1 in class final - which you take in a computer lab. The final consists of questions from the mini exams, so study them well. Although it was an easy class, I didn't learn too much from it.

Easy teacher

he is the best teacher i have encountered in sfsu. for someone who is very busy like me, and who live 1 hour away from school, the flexibility of online class is extremely valuable. his exams are based 100% on books and if you do well on the test, the final quiz is a piece of cake. iam just hoping that there;ll be more online class in sfsu, so we don;t have to attend boring lecture and sleep in class.

very easy!

Basically, its an online course. You'll only need to show up to class on the first day of class and the day of the final. Just take the mini quizzes on each chapter (about 13 or 14) on the internet. Plus, you can take it as many times as you wish until you get a perfect score. No need to buy the textbook nor listen to lectures. All you need to do memorize the questions and answers because the final is just a few questions from each chapter. It is randomly drawn from a pool of questions. Very easy class!

Very Easy, but Also an Interesting Class

It's true...this is officially the easiest class offered at SFSU (in my opinion). The 14 mini quizzes are each made up of 10 questions (taken from a pool of about 50 so it's different every time you take it) that you can take any time as many times as you want.

To help with the final, Robertson posts a 'mock' final on the Internet. This practice final is made up of questions that are taken from the same pool of questions that will appear on the actual final - word for word. I went to class about six times, rarely viewed the lectures, took the practice final about 30 times and managed an A.

If you don't like the idea of using the Internet as a teaching tool, go to class. Robertson is a very intelligent teacher and an interesting lecturer. The one thing I regret about this class is missing his lectures.

Bottom line is...be sure and be very prepared for the final because you only get one shot at it and it is worth 50% of your final grade.

Excellent teacher!

This teacher is a gift to SF State. He makes it so easy for the students that you can't find a better teacher. You don't have to show up for class at all becuase you can watch the lectures online. For those who want to learn, you can show up for class and the discussion day (also optional). 50% of the grades are take home quizzes that you can take online. The other 50% is the comprehensive final that you take in class but don't worry becuase as long as you take time to take the quizzes at home you will be fine since the final questions are the same as the quizzes.

Easy A!!!

By far this class with Robertson from 8:10-9 is the most laid back and easy ASS class I ever had. I only show up for the first week of class and stop going. It's "ONLINE" but his lecture is broadcasted live. There are 14 quizzes which accounts for half of the grade and the final consist of the same quesions randomly drawn from all the chapters he assigned. You can retake the quizzes over and over again until you get that perfect 10. Anyone can get an A in this class...

Seminar...more like a work camp

Things must really have changed from the last review, because the amount of work this guy requires is much more than just a midterm and a final.

Dr. Robertson, although seems like a nice guy, has no idea the amount of work expected in his class far exceeds reasonable expectations.

1) Midterm 25% grade 2) Participation 10% 3) Case write-ups 20%

Total possible percentage for "individual" performance - 55%.

4) Group Case presentation 10% 5) Group presentation and written plan 35%

Total possible "group" performance - 45%

Good luck if you find yourself in a group of slackers.

I'm not one to complain, but many marketing professors have grown dependent on the "group project." So much so, that 4 out of my 5 classes require some group function outside of class. I will be the first to agree that working on group dynamics is an important portion of our education, but enough is enough!

Most of us work, have families, or have other responsibilities, besides trying to figure the logistics of group meetings outside of class.

A large part of the problem, I think, falls on the graphic obsessed, and the "real-life" shoulders of the department chair.

Bottom line, if an instructor requires a group project, 45% of your final grade should not be based on it.

Good luck if you decide to enroll in this class. Just make sure you have no job, no life, no more than 12 units, and are a sucker for punishment!

A teacher you will appreciate

Dr. Robertson is new on the faculty and is a teacher you can't help but appreciate. He has a good sense of humor and made the 431 class actually interesting and informative. He is reasonable and his tests are fair. The course grade was based on a midterm and final exam, all multiple choice questions.

Attendance is required for the weekly discussions and you get credit for being there whether you participate or not. He gives out "Free Spins" for those who do take part in class discussions. These are like wild cards that can be used instead of answering a question on one of the exams.

I had fun and enjoyed this class and it was a sunny spot in my semester. So I have to say I highly recommend this teacher.
