Professor Seely is very knowleagable and has a firm hold on his subject matter. Although he often strayed from the readings and gave unrelated information, his class was always enjoyable. Those who are interested in history will enjoy Prof. Seely. His classes are not simple, however. One must keep up with the readings and be prepared for pop quizzes. His tests often draw on specific and smalll details, but if one attends class and pays attention, he/she will find the Prof. Seely tends to stress these important details in his lectures. Take his class, but be prepared to work.

I would try to avoid taking classes with this instructor. Although I know some students who enjoyed his class, I think his lecture is boring and hard to understand. He don't leacture on the material from the text and he pick a topic that's unrelated to the class and discuss it for the whole period. And the topic may seem unimportant but then you will find in the exam. The only good thing about him is his third exam is not comprehensive, meaning you don't have to know the material from the previous two mid terms. Although I read the text, I nearly got an "F" in the class. His three exams were difficult and a lot was from small little details. I think I had "F" in the exams. There were two term paper on two historic person and you had to write the theme for it- That two report brought my grade into receiving "CR" as a grade.

This Professor dosn't stay on the subject and wastes our time. Although he knows the material well he is difficult to understand. We are required to take pop quizzes throught the semester, and write a small term paper and give a paper review. It is a required class that could be more interesting.

Seely has everything down pat. He knows the material inside-out, but tends to meander and run off track. He is often late in finishing, thus keeping students overtime for crucial information. He has three major exams and five pop quizes plus an all important research paper. It is essential that the student come to class prepared because he will call on various students and if you aren't ready, will note in his log that you were unprepared. The class is easy if you keep up with the reading and stay prepared.
