T'SHAKA IS TIIIIGHT! HIS LECTURES SEEM LIKE HE'S SPEAKING AT A RALLY... HE'S SO INTO THE SUBJECT AND KNOWS SO MUCH THAT IT MOTIVATES YOU TO KNOW IT TOO.. MALCOLM X IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE POLITICAL FIGURES AND T'SHAKA EMBODIES A LOT OF THE VALUES MALCOLM HAD. THIS IS A TIGHT CLASS BUT UNFORTUNATELY HAD TO DROP THIS SEMESTER.. I WILL DEFINITELY TAKE IT IN THE NEAR FUTURE, CUZ ITS WORTH IT!

T'Shaka is a very competent Professor with a zeal for his particular subject. He is a very personable Professor and is actually involved in community organizations. T'Shaka is filled with a wealth of information and his class is very exciting and informative. I would definitely reccommend checking his class out!

Lectures: repetitive. The first several lectures had nothing to do with Black politics, but rather his interpretation of Afro-centric pedagogy. He claimed in these lectures to support non-dogmatic teaching, and seminar-type classes. But in reality, his classes were entirely lecture format and he seemed to be really annoyed when people's ideas clashed with his. A couple of lectures saved him from an F, although these interesting talks were late in the term. His talks about Malcolm X in particular were excellent. TEXT: AWFUL. He wrote this book, The Return of the African Mother Principle of Male and Female Equality. I don't know who published it but they need to get an editor, fast. This is the worst-written book I've ever seen in print. I read a lot of it and I still have no idea what it's about. Fortunately, the required readings had little to do with the class lectures after the first few weeks. ASSIGNMENTS: Reading was a hassle, as the book sucked. Papers were pretty easy. Allows volunteer work to substitute for written paper.
