Harsh, but hilarious

Prof Tabrizi has an overbearing personality that some take offense to. I didn't mind, though. His famous catch fraze, "for sake of argument." Just take notes on the commands he goes over and give them a once over before the midterm and final and you'll be fine.

Horrible, Horrible Instructor

I don't know how this guy got his job! It seems that teaching is the one thing he can't do at all. First of all, ENGR-103 is an INTRODUCTORY course to programming and should be taught from the basics (beginning) but Tabrizi clearly has trouble understanding this. As he "explains" new material it seems like he is going over what we're supposed to already know. Second, he is impossible to follow and barely puts any effort into explaining the subject. You get lost in that class very quickly. Homeworks are somewhat fair if you read the book or have someone to help you (because his lectures won't). But exams and quizzes are ridiculously hard, confusing and unfairly graded. Nobody in our class passed his first exam. And finally, he is LAZY but that could be considered a good thing because after he mumbles for 15-20 minutes, he leaves and you can too if you want. My advise to you is to avoid Tabrizi at any cost. Take this class at City College because unfortunately he is the only one teaching it here at SFSU.

A lazy teacher

One word to describe this teacher --- LAZY!!!! He ALWAYS LEAVE EARLIER during his office hour. He doesn't care his student very much. You learn nothing even though you get a good grade in his class ! WASTE YOUR TIME !

He's the one for 103.

Engineering 103 has to be the least interesting class ever! Who wants to learn how to program? The class consisted of four hw assignments, two midterms, and a final. Tabrizi would lecture and sometimes had us type programs up in class. For the most part, he let us leave early. He was available when I had questions and was more than willing to help me out. The midterms are quite challenging and the final looked like it was written in something other than English. I admit that I didn't study or put any time whatsoever into this class, so maybe that explains why the examns were so difficult for me to understand. As long as you do all four homework assignments and attempt the exams you'll pass the class.

Take him!

Tabrizi lecxtures for about 20 minutes and then leaves you to do the project on your own. However, he is more than willing to answer questions and help out. If you are there for his lectures and put some of your own time into the class you should be fine. His tests aren't too easy, but they aren't too difficult.

Easy teacher!

Engr 101 lab. Tabrizi is an easy teacherand yes he only lectures for 15 minutes then you get to do whatever you want. His assignments are the easiest ive ever done and his exams arent much harder. I'd say the only bad thing is that he's not available all the time. But the homework he gives out will take no longer than 30 minutes. His grading is very lenient, As long as you do it he'll give you 10 almost all of the time Overall he's an easy teacher and it's an easy class.

Horrible

Prof Tabrizi teaches engr. 101 lab. He is never avialable and if you do ask for help he gets irritated. He is on time but he only lectures for less than 15 min and then leaves. his tests are pretty hard because it really test your knowledge of that program. All the programs you will be doin ghas to be self taught.

He doesn't deserve to be called a teacher

This instructor teaches the lab section of the Engineering 101 class. If you have the choice of taking someone else for this class, do it. Mr Tabrizi is not much of a lab instructor and he doesn't seem to be willing to become one. He is always late for class and then when he finally gets there, he only talks for about 15 minutes and then he dissapears. The homeworks are sometimes hard, but he is never around to help. His exams are frustrating because he doesn't even explain the material well and then he expects you to know a lot about the subject. Also, be aware that in this class there are sections that require you to go search for your own information sources, because Mr Tabrizi doesn't use, doesn't want you to use, and doesn't recommend any other books or materials that would help you succeed in this class.
