Deborah Tolman

Deb Tolman is awesome. She assigns great readings and encouraging critical discussion. She is amazing at engaging students and getting interesting discussion going. She is by no means easy. Many of her readings are complex and loaded, but she is excellent at translating and making sure her students really understand the theories behind writers' words. She is challenging, but not a total hardass. She allows you to re-write one of the three papers you do in the class if you don't like the grade. She also accepts drafts. I highly recommend taking classes from this woman!
