If you're taking her for any class, get ready. She's an absolute genius in her field, however, she has a monotone voice and she even knows she does. The problem is, she'll give a few examples and email them to you to study. And then expect to learn and work out of the book. Really, that's all I did the entire time. I could have taken this course online and have her send the examples to me by email. It was ridiculous. She does give good projects to work on, but don't expect any help from her. Seriously, everyone was fustrated and our student aide was a joke.

I'm currently in Jane Veeder's DAI 623 course; it's called Advanced Problems and Projects in Graphics, but what it really boils down to is learning and using Macromedia Director for a variety of projects. We're covering user interface design, interactive design elements and other graphic conventions and tying it all together with Director. She's a good professor, but her critiques of your work can be harsh. If you'd like a no-nonsense, fast-paced and learn-alot-of-stuff-on-your-own kind of class in multimedia/interactive design, this is it. Bonus, only one decent-sized book and no formal exams. Mix of independent and group work.
