don't treat them as such..your student are not idiots

worst teacher i hvae ever had. she should do something else besides poking her nose when talking to her students in her office or at least me. Arrogant, while sitting in her office, she would put her boots on the desk- i am not into watching the bottom of her shoes even though they might be prettier than her face and attitude toward us the males who were in her class this semester.

And please- what was frustrating to all of us (women and men) the most was her talking about her boyfriend. She certainly never had one. We live on the west coast, she should get out of her closet and not just verbally defend women rights. Gays are nice but she is not one of those.

more of a Casanova than a teacher- Girls watch out and if you want to know why ask for Edd in the journalism department. She can be underhanded and nasty. and for her politics, she certainly should be deported.

And as a Jewish non-Zionist man, I would ask her as a German Jew to stop defending Israel as a democratic state. It certainly is not a democracy like she preaches. It is a colony which uses state-terrorism, sabotage and kidnapping. The Jewish Zionists are doing to the Palestinians what Hitler and the Nazis did to them. People like them and her need to go see a psychiatrist or read Freud maybe that will help them reverse their psychological complex and stop them from doing to others what has been done to their predessecors. Oh! And she might be a good guard at Guantanamo Bay. She looks like that woman interrogator who was involved in the pictures scandal. Don't forget your Cuban cigar.

Why does she not go teach there. She'll be perfect at it. I gave her an F at first but my warning was not published.

I've never worked so hard in my life...

... but Professor von Wahl made it worth it!! I learned more in one class than I ever had my last 2 1/2 years here. She is very knowledgable, and challenges her students to think above and beyond the levels of normalcy that are usually presented. She is very helpful in preparing presentations and term papers so long as you make the effort to meet up with her in office hours. Lectures can be a bit dry in certain areas of the class (but what class isn't like that?), and her midterm is hard! If you're in for an easy A... don't take her class, but if you are willing to work hard, then do expect to learn alot, and be proud of your accomplishments!

an okay teacher

she is not a big shot. I dropped the class before i had to withdraw. she knows enough for somebody with a Phd, but her lectures are boring. She does not have that necessary charismatic spark to animate students and compel them to learn her material.

She is a bit flat in a way that she can hurt her students' self-esteem in class. I am glad I dropped it and took another teacher instead.

Don't waste your time and money specially

if you are an international student.

She is a very bad teacher. She really doesnn't know how to lecture. She makes her students do the talking all the time. I guess they are not paying her enough..but it does not matter, she still has to do the job.

I showed up to her 'comparative politics' class 6 times but then I had to withdraw from the class. Whether she is talking about Europe, politics or security, she keeps talking about women. It is obvious she loves them but she should be professional and neutral in class. As a man I felt uncomfortable. She is rude to her male students. She used to get angry when a guy made a comment and smile when a female student talks.

Professors should teach without discriminating. Don't waste your money and her anti-American, pro-EU lectures. Why does she not stay in Europe and teach?

Dyke men hater

I don't recommend her really. I was one of the few guys in her class and she kind of freaked me out. Her criticism of men is so harsh.

Besides, she keeps looking at her female students. If I were a woman I would feel uncomfortable. She needs more training on how to teach.

She is a very good teacher

and I encourage American and foreign students to take her even if you don't have interest in the field.

Don't Underestimate this professor

She is a challenging, intelligent and ressourceful professor. And she has a lot of potential to offer in the future. You can feel this energy once you communicate with her on a professor-student basis.

She has a lot to offer to her students. She guides, helps with any questions you may have.

She is the most modest professor I have ever taken despite all her published articles and her intellectual achievements.

She is very respectefull of herself and others. She absorbs, acknowledges and appreciates divergent and conflicting opinions all along the socio-political and intellectual spectrum.

If you assign someone an F, at least give a realistic explanation to press for your case. Did they not teach you in SFSU how to write a paper?

Since you did not give any, I have all right to label you as judgmental ,uncritical and biased.Case is open for debate. I welcome your counter-argument.

Great teacher!! (easy A need not apply!)!

I took Professor Von Wahl's Forming of the European Union class and it was amazing. I learned more in her class than any other that i have taken at SFSU. She unknowingly helped me make the decision to major in international relations. Professor Von Wahl assigns a heavy reading load. By the time I finished the class, I felt proud to have made it and like i really understood the subject. It is true that most of us were overwhelmed by the amount of reading required, especially because it is on a new subject, and there was a lot of complaining about that; but, i really think she did the job well. i didnt finish reading the review that gave her an F, but i imagine that a person who would give her an F probably didnt invest too much in the class. If you sign up for her class, you have to care about the subject; this is an earned A, no doubt. Also, i never felt confused about what to expect. the class was very well organized. most of the homework was reading. she was always on time and never kept us over. She was a great lecturer and really knows this subject inside and out. if you ever read this, prof., i just want you to know that your the best teacher i have had at SFSU!

Some potential but needs a miracle to uncork it.

All F reviews are hidden right now. They will be back shortly.
