The BEST teacher EVER!!

Prof. Walsh is the most inspirational teachers out there. He only has 2 briefs and the field study. We were supposed to have 2 test, however most of the class did so poorly he picked the best grade out of the two. Really, the test are not that hard if you pay attention in class. DO GOOD ON THE FIRST TEST! I got an A for the first test, however, for the second one I got a D because it was so hard...It's not the questions that are hard, its the wording of the questions. He makes this class fun and exciting. Every brief that he tries to explain is like a really really good story. If you don't take this teacher you are certianly missing out. =)

One of the best teachers I've had in my life.

I would suggest this class either as a person going into the criminal justice program or a someone who is just trying to fulfill some GE requirments. Even if your not interested in the criminal justice system, who knows with this class you might be sucked into it.

A great guy!!

Prof Walsh is indeed one of the most enthusiastic professors I have met at SFSU. He knows his material well, has tons of experience in the subject of criminal justice, and is a nice guy.

He has a good sense of humor and is available always to help students any time he can. 3 Legal briefs make up the course grade which can be difficult or not. Just take good notes in class, and show him rough drafts of your briefs in order to make corrections before the final is due. It is pretty easy to get a A, by reading only 3 cases and attending class every day.

awesome blossom (umm...chili's..)

Great Dirty Harry impression. One of those kind of people who when speaks, others listen. Great command of the class (DO NOT TALK WHEN HE TALKS) and subject - finds ways of inputting humor when you least expect it. Fantastic lectures that are jam-packed with information. Make sure you listen as they will prove invaluable to you in doing assignments for him. He gives you a new perspective on the criminal justice process that will make you sound wise at social gatherings. It's very healthy.

Animated Professor

Professor Walsh was an amazingly animated professor. He knew his material extremely well, presented the information in a fun and interesting manner, and was more than willing to work with you outside of class on legal briefs. Prof. Walsh demands that your papers be turned in on time, but he gives you more than enough time to complete assignments, understanding that his is not the only class that you are taking. I highly recommend this man as a professor for CJ 300.

The best there is

This man is by far the best teacher on this campus. He is a fantastic lecturer and a nice guy. Do not dis him (for God's sake, don't talk in class!) and meet with him at least once during office hours, and you will get along fine with him, as well as enjoy a terrific class.

Great guy and instructor.

Professor Walsh is 'Da Man!' Here is a great guy that is engaging and interesting and knowledgable. He is one guy that makes going to school fun. He keeps up with the syllabus and has great stories to go along with the sometimes dry cases. He puts a spin on the cases that everyone can understand. He does a great "Dirty Harry" impersonation! He also happens to be an unpretentious 'man's man.' Take any of his classes; you will not be disappointed.

Someone that is actually interested in teaching and then does it

What can I say--a teacher that actually teaches. This was one of the best classes that I have ever taken. Professor Walsh gives only one short concept exam, however, the readings and exam briefs are challenging (if you do them correctly). His lectures are so interesting, they are difficult to forget. He has a sincere interest in every student understanding and learning the material and makes himself available to assist all. I strongly recommend taking his class whether Criminal Justice is your major or you just need units. At the end of the semester you will have a wealth of information, without having to take useless exams that you've had to memorize answers to.

I love Mr. Walsh!! He should be an inspiration to all teachers- ESPECIALLY his "friend" Mr. Curtain. I don't know how he ever became such good friends with that pompous jerk, but I suspect it had a lot to do with ass kissing. Anyway, Mr. Walsh is funny, respectful, understanding, and knowlegable. Take his class if you can.

Professor walsh is a very engaging person and lecturer who is quite knowledgeable on his subject matter. He is always very acessible to his students and truly welcomes his students questions. He is a true joy to listen to. Many other professors should take lessons from this instructor since he seems to have lecturing down very well.

Mr. Walsh is a very good teacher. There is a lot of reading for homework, but there is no actually homework except for two briefs. You have to keep up with the reading and make sure that you understand with what he is talking about. If you take this class, make sure that you sit close to where he lectures.

If I could, I'd give him an A+. Ken Walsh is a great man and a great teacher. He's energetic (actually antsy is the word I think) and alive in front of the classroom. He keeps you awake and on your feet the entire lecture. Law can be boring, but not the way he teaches it. His discussions are up-beat and enjoyable, with well mixed in jokes and wise cracks in between. He is also a very kind man, and cares about his students and wants them to do well. He makes it very easy to do well in the course as long as you attend his lectures. I did not have to read anything but the case law and got an "A" without really trying. Don't fall alseep or chat with your neighbor in his class though...it annoys him and you'll subject yourself to public embarassment On the other side of the coin, he gives out praise to students in front of the class as well. Great teacher, great class, great man. Take him

This teacher is probably the best teacher that I ever had. He is knowledgeable, entertaining, and he really cares about students. He motivates you to learn and go beyond your own expectations. This teacher teaches about so much more than just the course materials. He teaches you about life. The course is about Ethics in Criminal Justice. He makes it so interesting and entertaining. All the students constantly talk about his class and can't wait for the next one. Be prepared to read a lot of tough material and do a lot of writing!! But, don't worry, his lectures make it all very clear so that you will understand the material very well. The students all talk about Mr. Walsh all the time because he is so fair and understanding and is always there for you. I highly recommend this teacher for any course that he teaches.

This is the only clas all semester that I really looked foreward to going to. Prof Walsh was always ready to delver a great, I mean really great lecture! You can't sleep in this class because it is so very interesting and exciting. If you can believe that criminal law and stuff can be exciting, believe me he makes it so. This teacher demands a lot and he gets it. Just seeing him in front of the class and you will know what I mean. You pay attention to this teacher, not like so many others who are boring and worse. Prof Walsh teaches about law, but also economy and political and social knowledge. This course has acutally helped me with other classes I am taking. Prof Walsh is always available to help students and that is unusual for teachers these days, believe me. He helped me and so many others with advising and counseling and stuff. I have heard so many other sudents talking about how easy he is to talk to about the course or anything else. He only asks that you come to class regularly and do your assigments and hand it in on time. He is fair and an excellent lecturer. You won't be disapointed if you take this class. You will however work very hard and read so much tough reading. But it is worth the trouble you will go to. Excellent Teacher!!!

Prof. Walsh is a well versed lecturer. He knows those criminal cases like the back of his hand. He educates you on how the cases came to be and the implications of the whole criminal justice system. If you plan to go to law school, this class with this teacher is a must! I hope you're not afraid to read and spend lots of time analyzing. His class is not for the light hearted.
