Wow. Thats all i can say about Heidi Ward. She is a Great teacher with an excellent personality. The topics that she has you write on are interesting and you get to watch great movies such as "Freeway" and "Fight Club". I highly recommend this teacher because she grades your writing very fairly and keeps class very interesting.

There really is nothing specific that I need to say about Heidi and her class. The specifics are irrevelant. I have taken many English classes, and not being an English major, I usually was in these classes with dread. Not in Heidi's class. I had never seen a more generous instructor that was willing to enjoy the students' works on THEIR terms. Heidi is not one of those structured and inflexable stiff English professors who would punish you for not adhering to some arbitrary essay format. Almost the opposite, if you put your heart into writing a good essay, not only is Heidi not going to pick the bones out of your essay, but you will get the sense that she really enjoys your essays. Well? What better motivation would a student (and an average one at that) need to improve their writing skills and dedicate more time to writing? This is not to say that Heidi is an easy-sucker kind of instructor whose class you'd just want to sail through. You won't think that because her class is good. All that and inspiring assignments, interesting in-class activities, her patient, winning personality, amongst tons of other little bonuses, and you will get an English class that is close to perfect. I, too, would recommend other students to seek out this wonderful instructor any way they can.

I can't say enough about Heidi. She is one of the most likeable teachers on campus, and she ensures that her classes interesting and stimulating. Usually I can't stand English classes. I find them extremely tedious. Heidi defies all the usual rules (force students to read boring books, write boring essays, and preach about grammar and rules), she gives out interesting assignments, and encourages lively discussions in class. She takes the view that if you are a good writer it's OK to bend the rules to fit your style. Isn't that what it's really all about? We were assigned 4 or 5 essays throughout the semester, and the final paper was a joy to write. We got to watch Fight Club in class - how many other teachers would do that?! Truly the best class I've taken since I became a student 3 years ago, it was fun, it was interesting, I met some great people, and I most importantly I learned something; and all that from a required composition course! Find her, and take her classes - you'll have a blast.
