Prof. Williams is a somewhat good teacher. Primarily he is a bland teacher without alot of enthusiasm for teaching Anatomy. His lectures are not as instructive since he basically goes over what is in the lecture manual. He uses powerpoint presentations and pictures to teach the class. For some odd reason, I ended up falling asleep towards the end of class. He is sometimes hard to understand because his talks very low. His class consisted of 5-6 online quizzes M/C, two midterms and one final. His tests are usually 60 questions and consist of T/F, M/C, drawings and fill in the blanks. He provides a sample exam online but no review for the test. Also he uses blackboard to post grades, lectures, quizzes and announcements. From friends, I heard his labs are very boring and pointless. He gives a list of landmarks or parts and instructs students to find it. In addition he uses a laser pointer to point at parts instead of using his hands. If there is a choice I recommend Prof. Chinn for lab. Anyhow, his class overall is okay. I suggest taking another teacher, otherwise you could manage to pass Anatomy with Wiliams.

first of all he's a great teacher!! i took Dr. William's entomology class fall semester 2001, and i really liked it to a large extent. he's a very friendly teacher with tremendous enthusiasium in what he teaches. in the insect class, he always gladly answered whatever questions studetns might have and always loved to share his knowledge...to a point that sometimes i didn't how to stop the conversation. he's a very nice and his exams were all very straight forward and fair, or simple. in the lab, he would always bring in samples of insects, galls, whatever might be intersting to show to the class. he's the kind of teacher that students would miss. if u are thinking about taking any upper division class, wither for ur major or just for electives, definitely take his general entomology or medical entomology classes. u are ensured to gain a lot of knowledge and insights from Dr. Williams. also, u will begin to develope passions and respects for bugs.

What a funny guy. I truly enjoyed his well timed sense of humor. Stan does what he needs to in order get through to his students. His breadth of knowledge is well rounded and a bit bizarre. He teaches human anatomy AND entomolgy??? Fair exams, fair labs, fair project, and a bit on the leniant side when it comes to grading. I would definitely take more of his classes.

Stan is one of those teachers you wished taught the rest of your courses. I dreaded taking biometry, but he really made it fun and interesting. Which was a godsend -- normally, I SUCK at math and I expected to flunk! He has the WEIRDEST sense of humor and always makes the whole class laugh!!! He is also obviously brilliant and knows his stuff. He's very personable and enthusiastic about his students. This guy was born to be a teacher, and one of those you 'accidently on purpose' run into in the hall just to say hi!!! He also teaches Entomology and Human Phys.

Stan Williams had a wonderful sense of humor and a real love of students, with a frenetic energy about his subject. However, his lectures sometimes meandered a bit, which may have worked for some students fine, but I often observed people falling asleep all over the class, as well as dwindling numbers in lecture compared to exam days. This is not to say that he is not a person of amazing intellect - it's just that he needs to do something to keep people really focused and actively learning - perhaps he needs to focus more on the basics, and not on his own outside research/background interests within the class. Otherwise, great job.

Dr. Williams is one of those teachers you have a hard time leaving. He teaches his classes with enthusiasm and a sense of rediscovery, as if he himself were learning this stuff for the first time. I took Human Anatomy with him and had a great time. Not only did he make every part of the class relavent to me, but he got me interested in the subject that I could find relavance. He sets you up for success. He really comes across as a teacher who actually wants you to learn the material, not just get a grade. He gives 3-4 exams (including final), tells you what subjects will be covered and where to focus your energy. (He obviously understands that most of us have not enough time or energy to learn everything just in case. He uses whatever text he has found to be suitable and also provides a reader that he put together to help make understanding and knowing what's important easy. He is easily approachable, fun, and very good educator. I recommend him for any class you can take with him. I believe he also teaches Biometry and entomology.
