I think this is one of the best classes I have ever taken. I really like this class. It was two hours long but I did not find the class to be boring. He had a lot of fun activities that lead to interesting discussions and he gave examples by giving a lot of personal stories. If you need to take this class, take it with him. He is great!

It's hard for me to explain why I actually enjoyed Proffessor Yep's teaching style. As other reviewers mentioned, his lecturing style can be a bit slow. All I can say is that I was absolutely furious that i couldn't get out of this class requirement. i've been public speaking for many years, and felt that it would be an awful waste of my time. Surprizingly, despite my bad additude, I actually learned a few things from this class, and would recommend it to anyone else stuck with the speech 150 requirement. Not only was he smart enough to keep us on our toes, but he also managed to be accessable enough to salvage the worst of the terrified public speakers in the class. You absolutely have to show up to class, and even be back from breaks on time, but if you're dreading speech class, take this one.

Dr. Yep is a really nice person, but he presents the material as though he is teaching high school. Since most of the students taking this class are either juniors, seniors, or grad students, this did not seem appropriate. I can't tell you how many times I nodded off during his extremely simple and slow-moving lectures. A significant percenage of your final grade depends on your attendance, so there is no way to avoid the dull lectures or often unbearable class discussions. (There are always three or four people who just can't pass up the chance to comment endlessly at every opportunity, and Yep is too polite to interrupt them.) His exams are fair, though: not to easy, but definitely not hard. You only have to read through the book once to do well. The final project in Yep's SPCH 503 class is a group effort, so if you aren't comfortable sharing your final grade with 4 other people, he's not the professor for you. He is an extrememly friendly, considerate, and understanding person, and I'm sure that if I took his class when I was 15, he would be my favorite teacher.

The teacher made a class that was previously more difficult for me more tolerable and even enjoyable. I even ended up doing a lot better than I had anticipated before taking this class. Also, I did not realize I did so well on the tests until after getting them handed back. The teacher, Dr. Yep, taught this class very well.

He is one of the best teachers in campus. The book covers a lot of theories. It is best to buy the workbook, which is basically an outline of the chapters and some questions of the exam is from here.
